Quote:
“Í dimmum vetri hækkar sól
bræðir hjartans klakabönd – svo hlý.
Í dimmum vetri – vorið væna
vermir þitt vænghaf á ný.”

Systur is a folk band from Iceland, composed by the three Eyþórsdóttir sisters: Sigríður, Elísabet and Elín. With music running in their blood, as their mother is also a singer and the father is a composer and keyboardist, from an early age the girls show their passion for music. In 2011, they started as Sísý Ey and released, two years later, the single “Ain’t Got Nobody”. They partnered with Defected Records and debuted “Do it Good” (2015) and “Mystified” (2018). In 2017, it was the first released as a trio, under the name Tripolia, called “Bounce from the Bottom”. Besides the music the sisters are activists fighting for the transgender children’s rights.
Now, as the Systur they were selected to participate in the Söngvakeppnin competition, and thanks to the song “Með hækkandi sól”, they reached the final and won the right to represent Iceland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022.
